The Gospel of Riesling with Tanner Walle

  • Outland Wines 920 Franklin Street Napa, CA, 94559 United States (map)

Join Tanner Walle on Monday, 9/11 as we explore the gospel of Riesling, one of the world’s most noble grape varieties. A high-acid grape, Riesling has the uncanny ability to run the gamut of styles and flavors. Tanner will lead us through some of his favorites producers – from Germany, Austria, Alsace, Australia and the Americas – for a discussion on the transparency of Riesling, and its ability to express some of the finest terroirs in the world. $20/TICKET

Three things we must remember:

  • Riesling is not an inherently sweet wine!
  • Any white from anywhere in the world can find a corresponding Riesling. All you need is a willingness to try it.
  • Riesling is the way and the truth and the light.

Originally from Minneapolis, KS, Tanner began his wine career immediately upon moving to New York in 2007. Tanner would study under world-renowned wine evangelist Paul Grieco of Gramercy Tavern and Terroir Wine Bar.  After many Summer of Rieslings, and several trips around the US spreading Grieco's unique Riesling-fueled gospel, Tanner would go on to consult for several fine dining wine lists as well as retail shelves. It was throughout Tanner's tenure in NYC that a passion and fascination for unique beverage education and hospitality was cultivated. In late 2016, Tanner relocated to Sonoma, CA, where he continues to develop his energy and education for all things grape juice.
